Why Hyderabad Is Emerging as India’s Top GCC Hub for Global Capability Centers

Hyderabad is rapidly becoming India’s leading GCC hub, attracting global companies and strengthening its position as one of the most important technology centers in the country. The growth of Global Capability Centers in Hyderabad has accelerated significantly in recent years, making the city a preferred destination for multinational corporations looking to expand their operations in India.

According to recent industry reports, India added around 85–95 new Global Capability Centers in 2025, and Hyderabad alone accounted for more than 40 of these centers. This means nearly half of the new GCC establishments in the country were set up in Hyderabad, highlighting the city’s growing influence in the global technology ecosystem.

India hosts around 1,700 Global Capability Centers, with major hubs including Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, Pune, and Delhi-NCR. Hyderabad alone hosts over 270–350 GCCs, making it one of India’s fastest-growing GCC destinations. This rapid expansion is driven by global enterprises seeking strategic locations for innovation, research, and technology development.

Global Capability Centers are offshore units established by multinational corporations to manage key business functions such as technology development, data analytics, cybersecurity, product engineering, and financial operations. Unlike traditional outsourcing models, modern GCCs focus on innovation, digital transformation, and strategic business operations.

Many GCC companies in Hyderabad are working on advanced technologies such as Artificial Intelligence, cloud computing, data science, and cybersecurity, making the city a key hub for global innovation and digital transformation.

Several factors have contributed to the growth of the Hyderabad IT industry and the city’s rising reputation as a global technology hub. One of the most important advantages is the city’s strong talent pool. Hyderabad produces thousands of skilled professionals every year from top institutions, providing companies with access to highly qualified engineers, developers, and data scientists.

Another major reason companies prefer Hyderabad is the cost advantage. Compared to other major tech cities like Bengaluru and Mumbai, Hyderabad offers lower operational costs and more affordable office spaces, making it easier for companies to scale their operations.

Infrastructure development has also played a major role in the Hyderabad technology hub India story. Areas like HITEC City Hyderabad companies zone, Financial District, and Gachibowli provide world-class office spaces, IT parks, and modern business infrastructure. Improved connectivity through metro rail, the Outer Ring Road, and international airport access further strengthens the city’s appeal.

The growth of Global Capability Centers in Hyderabad has also boosted the Hyderabad commercial real estate growth significantly. In early 2025, the city recorded around 4 million square feet of office space demand, reflecting strong expansion from multinational companies.

Hyderabad’s total office stock is approaching 110 million square feet, and experts estimate it could reach 200 million square feet by 2030. This increasing Hyderabad office space demand is driving new developments in the city’s IT corridors.

With strong government support, world-class infrastructure, and a highly skilled workforce, Hyderabad continues to attract global investment. As more Hyderabad multinational companies establish GCCs in the city, Hyderabad is well on track to become one of the largest global technology and innovation hubs in Asia.
